Crafting Book Club: The Fellowship of Unfinished Projects & Other Honor Crafts
Make art inspired by the books we read!
We’re reading The Magician of Tiger Castle
This is a book club with scissors, paint, and rhinestones. Instead of sitting around a living room just talking, we bring stories to life through hands-on making. You can:
- ✦ collage a map of Aubry Tourvel’s underground library (A Short Walk through a Wide World)
- ✦ decorate a Cleff key (Foundryside)
- ✦ design Persephone’s underworld flower crown (A Touch of Darkness, or mythology in general)
- ✦ depict Persephone’s world that’s half flowers and half shadows
- ✦ choose-your-own-adventure!
No arts/crafts experience required.
FAQs
Do I have to finish the book to come?
Nope! Come even if you’re mid-way or didn’t read at all. The crafting is inspired by the book, so you’ll still enjoy the vibe.
Do I need to bring my craft supplies?
Nope! CRAFT has so much in our buffet it’s all included. Bring extras if you want (like fabric or scissors you love), but it’s not required.
Do I have to make something directly tied to the book?
Not at all! We’ll suggest prompts, but you’re free to follow your own inspiration.
How much does it cost?
Sliding-scale buffet pricing applies, just like our regular studio visits. Most guests contribute around $40 per person, which covers your experience: all supplies, tools, and cleanup. If you need a lower rate, you’re still welcome! The minimum is $10. And with our self-checkout, the ball’s in your court. Think of it as purchasing access to a fully stocked creative studio, rather than buying drinks or snacks like you might for a book club that meets at a coffeeshop. (But feel free to BYO whatever!)
How often do you meet?
Once a month. Each meeting is drop-in — just come!
How do I sign up?
No need to sign up, though RSVP helps us plan. Just drop by.
