workshop: Macrame Plant Hangers

Macrame uses knots to create designs. In fact, you may have done macrame, with all those knots you tied to make friendship bracelets in middle school! We’ll up the ante here, creating a decorative plant hanger or two. You’ll learn the basic knot and the pattern to tie in order to securely hang a pot or other item. You’ll also have the opportunity in this workshop to paint or decorate one small pot to go in your new hanger.

In this workshop, you will:

• * choose your cords,
• * decorate your pot with paint, collage, etc.,
• * learn the basic pot hanger pattern,
• * play with accessories like beads,
• * take home your hanger(s) and pot, and
• * leave with the knowledge to hang all your plants!
